I thoroughly enjoyed the one-day introduction to abstract art workshop with Steph MacDonald at The Pantry in Invercargill. It was my first attempt at abstract painting and everything I needed was provided, from an apron to the paint and board, making it a very easy process. "Mom and I had so much fun with this art experience!! I’ve attached the art as it was immediately after the class. Mom felt called to add to her art after we were finished, as it activated her heart space so deeply, and she was so excited about it, so I’ll post those pics below this post We had the most nourishing and healing experience. On the first piece, the numbers that showed up were significant to both of us. Mom’s numbers were 19 and 27 - which represented when she got married to my father and the age she was when my brother was born, which was a deeply traumatic experience, both were actually. Both men struggle with addiction and have created much pain and turmoil in her life and she is currently moving through releasing them both to the best of her ability. My numbers were 10 and 14 - both ages of massive trauma for me. One was a story too long and arduous to get into in this space, and the other was the age I was when my sister was diagnosed with cancer - also 2 traumas I’ve been moving through and dissolving the roots of over the past few months. For both my mom and I, we felt this was very representative of the work we’ve been doing individually and separately to truly be free of the disempowering effects and identities of the traumas. The second piece really allowed us to see that we are more deeply embodied in our healing and restoration journey than we realized!! This was an exciting realization for both of us, as we have been journeying for many years to free ourselves. The final piece allowed us to truly tap into our inner littles, and we had so much fun!! This piece is the one that truly inspired mom to continue this a creation journey once we were completed with class, the final pics below. "Steph made a huge impact on my life and I don't even think she knows how much she changed for me. I've been living in pain over the last few years coming out of an abusive relationship...

Survival mode at the root of it.. It felt like my suffering was endless and I couldn't get away from it. There was so much pain and fear in me. When I first worked with Steph last year I experienced a complete reboot of my system with the healing she did.

My mind shifted, my energy shifted and I felt the core wounds that kept me stuck in this lower paradigm dissappear, it put me on a new path.. Steph was able to show me my fear of prosecution for speaking out. I realised this is still tied to my past relationship where I was punished and belittled when speaking up about things that wasn't corrected.
