Workshops for Workplaces

Over a week, I guided a painting experience for Environment Southland where I guided staff during lunch breaks to paint what Matariki meant to them. It created a collaborative mural which now sits in the lunch room.

The Story

What painting has taught me about being human.

I was the child at James Hargest College forever covered in paint. My love of creativity arrived early in life and never really left. It began professionally with eleven murals across the inner CBD upgrade in Invercargill in 2020 and followed by a plethora of work, experiences and activations for people of Southland.

The mission underneath all of it is simple and enormous: to return people to their own creative selves. To show that beauty, expression and revealing our true essence is not a luxury. It is how we stay connected to this world, to each other, and to ourselves.

One of the projects I hold most close to my heart is the curriculum I developed, Ki Uta Ki Tai, from the mountains to the sea a painting journey tracing how water moves through landscape, through people, through time. Teaching children not just how to paint, but how to read a place.

My own exhibition, Creatrix, in 2022, was an act of claiming. Since then, I have featured at The Space in Riverton in 2025, and sold my first international painting to Slovakia.
